[ In his former line of work, you get very good at reading between the lines. So he weighs his options carefully. What he is spending most of his time doing to busy himself. And also who he is talking to, and whatever goes into his calculations, he errs on the side of something like kindness. In the form of a small white lie. And intentionally protesting too much. ]

...Not the sort of thing I would rather say. I do have a reputation to [ build? No one here really knows who you are, saving a few people ] maintain. ...But there is no harm in erring on the side of caution.

Well... I suppose if we don't find anything, we'll at least have a baseline data set for the future in case we need it. [Which she really, really hopes they don't.]

I'm prioritizing the known victims, but maybe we could do it in Cybernetics this evening?

[ He glances up from his current project, eyes dart briefly in the direction of the infirmary like he's checking for movement, then smiles when eye contact fully returns to her. ]

...worried about Durge? [Look, she has eyes and a brain. She's going to notice one of her two inmate coworkers suddenly changing his schedule and hanging out in the main part of the Infirmary as much as possible.]

[ It's clear that word is a little loaded. It's the appropriate term but does not really encompass everything, and they have not agreed on a new word for it since coming here, though clearly things have changed. ]

Well, take a seat! I'll be asking some questions, having you complete some simple tasks on my PADD, and I'll be taking a couple scans with this- [She holds up her T88 scanner] -throughout the process. Nothing invasive! You shouldn't feel anything at all.

[ Well, if nothing else she always seems so enthusiastic about getting to use her equipment from home that there is some small hope that submitting to all this will distract her.

Leave alone that if she were holding a weapon right now that would lull so many into a false sense of security. He kind of has to respect that. Gortash sits. ]

I'm glad to have earned a little bit of trust. [said with gentle teasing, but that by no means suggests she doesn't mean it - she very much values having the trust of her friends, and especially of those inmates she has some measure of responsibility for, here in Cybernetics.

She pulls up a notetaking program on her PADD.]

Okay, so let's start by you walking me through the past twenty-four hours in as much detail as you can manage.

[ His description of the day is rather blase, though he admits he knows how it sounds. The morning routine, breakfast, most sounding perfectly normal. Even arriving at work and taking on his projects, the things he is learning -- there is no lunch hour. There is no break for dinner. And then he's in there late. Checking up in the infirmary off and on. Sometimes taking a smaller project in with him but largely sitting vigil.

But that's not what this is about. ]

[Tendi takes a quick scan, asks a few more questions, moves on to asking him to complete some memory and logic puzzled on her PADD, takes another scan. She asks him questions again, some of which are just slightly re-worded versions of what she's asked before. But, well, it's a memory screening, that's probably deliberate.

Finally, she jots down a couple final notes and sets her PADD down.]

Everything looks to be within the expected parameters! I'd say the chances that you need to worry about the, um, recent incident is pretty darn low.

[ Fretting about people other than yourself is a lot of work. He doesn't know how she manages with how many she extends that to. ]

You said you might be able to use those results as a control?

Mmhmm. If something does impact your memory at a later date, we should be able to compare this data to the new and get a better idea of what's changed than we would with just the new screening alone.
