The interim position really does not do much to benefit anyone save when dire things are occurring. It doesn't prepare us for what is to come and it does not prepare you for the demands of the job you came here to do. Really they're just keeping the both of us busy and watched.

[ All things considered, the description he used was accurate and his interim warden was indeed immediately recognizeable. And another from that other Hell, if he has a chance to guess. ]

[Fizz had propped up a few books on his seat to put him at the right height for the table, nursing a drink when his Inmate found him. He flashed his sharp teeth in a welcoming smile, reaching across the Lounge with those telescoping limbs to fetch another glass.]

Just Fizzarolli. Hey. Can I get you something? [His fingers waggled expectantly, ready to snatch it from the bar top.]

[ Ever technically minded and working in the cybernetics lab, his eye may be following everything his limbs are doing but with a clear analytical view. Working out how they might do what they do, based on experience and then his false memories from that flood. He might have questions later. ]

[The imp, of course, is used to be looked at, grabbing a bottle and withdrawing his arm with ease. Those teeth make short work of the cork, though he pauses briefly after spitting it to the table, a sheepish grin on his face. The wine poured, Fizz settles.]

[ If he's bothered he doesn't outwardly show it, but he does note a look and suspect that it is expected that he might be. Which is an underlying concern. It tells him something. ]

Yes. I would say that the Admiral has a fondness but it's Earth and all its iterations really, and that is where I am an outlier.

And you are from the same Hell as several others I have seen here. An imp?

[ He knows enough to know the coloring might be a little unusual, but Fizzaroli also pointed out being a clown; it is up in the air if anything he sees is makeup or not. ]

Yeah, that is a weird one. I mean, I guess we just name our Rings after whichever Sin rules them, so maybe I'm not one to talk either. What is yours called then?

Toril, specifically. Our Hells are different too. Some similar names if I remember correctly, which is interesting. [ He takes a sip of his drink. ] From what I saw, yours seemed better.

Wait, how is ours better?

[The imp looks surprised and very interested to hear more. It's his home, he's always going to be protective of it, but he's very aware that the human world is designed to be better. Meaning this is the first he's heard of his home possibly being the preferential choice to anyone.]

[ All conclusions drawn by his own limited experience and of course the tendency of Archdevils to go with legend and rumor that adds to their own mystique. ]

Different but not necessarily better: mortals wind up in your Hell because of deeds in life, whereas in mine, most denizens of Toril largely end up in the Hells because they went there intentionally or a devil of some stripe bought them. Whether through deals the mortal made or... other means. There are multiple deities and all of them quite territorial about the afterlives of their dedicated souls; very few faiths ascribe to one known plane for the wicked.

For those who wind up in the Hells and even denizens born there at times, failure to abide by commands or falling to a greater enemy always comes with the threat of becoming soul larvae, stripped of all intelligence and personality and becoming little more than a consumable currency.

[ He takes a drink. ] ...Imps are people in yours -- they're mostly feral creatures in mine. I quite prefer the former, I think.

I don't really know what it's like for the Sinners if I'm honest, but yours sounds...complicated. Though I guess depending who you ask, not all of Hell really think of Imps as much more than that. [The admission comes with a bitter frown that doesn't last too long, the clown trying not to dwell.]

It did not look especially comfortable at times. [ That is the way of things in all places. It's not really a system he did anything to stop benefiting from in Baldur's Gate, so... ] But I would be lying if I said the first of you I met I did not suspect of being some manner of Cambion. Learning otherwise was a greater positive.
